Paul Cake Extreme to join me on Kilimanjaro 2015

Meet with Paul today.  Paul will be joining me and ADI as I take a team of 25 climbers up Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in 2015.

We will be climbing the highest point in Africa - the highest volcano in Africa and the Worlds tallest free standing mountain - yipe you guessed it the mighty Queen of Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro.


Paul will be icing cupcakes on the summit for Meals on Wheels. Our aim is to raise R250 000-00 for Meals on Wheels SA.


Paul will be joining Brent Lindeque (cliffcentral.com) who announced on radio, while he was interviewing me, that he too will be joining us.







I met with Paul aka Paul Cake-extreme at his Atlas road Boksburg, Bakery and Coffee Shop and I was taken back to Paris, the wall art is fantastic.  I then explored his shop and found a whole lot of wedding goodies and dresses.
 
 


I am really excited to be climbing with both Paul and Brent. They are both such awesome guys who do so much good for others!!

World Rescue Challenge Cape Town

I put together the first all girl rescue team to take part in the WRO championships which was held in Cape Town. We wore pink and black jumpsuits and for the actual competition we wore a blue purple fire safety jumpsuits.  The competition consists of 3 evolutions. Rapid evolutions in which you have 10 minutes to remove the patient. Limited Evolution whereby you have 20 minutes to remove a patient using only hand tools and the final evolution the Unlimited evolution - here you use all your equipment, jaws of life and tools to remove the patient in 20 minutes. We came in 18th overall and the first SA team (all male of course) came in 14th overall in the world. Not too shabby for a bunch of girls!!.   Like all international events an opening ceremony takes place and Cape Town did not disappoint.                                                                                                                                                                          Quest to find the top 5 free hiking/walking trails in Jozi 3/5: Kloofendal Nature Reserve I have visited this place before, but it was to take a bunch of Paramedic students on a hike of sorts. We started at Florida Park Fire station then walked to Kloofendal, while the students carried medical equipment and a "patient"  in a stretcher. We only got as far as the dam, then completed our exercise and made our way back to Florida Park fire Station.  I have also fought bush fires here while working on the fire engine and it was tough going.
