The Team Zodwa Project - reach out be a hero: On the beat our Memorial Garden to fallen brothers Dan and Mike

Earlier I had put an appeal on social media for assistance and donations of plants, clay pots, compost and stones to create our Memorial garden.
 


Today is our first Christmas day at Fairview Fire Station without Dan and Mike who perished in the line of duty fighting a basement fire in May 2015. My shift would be handing over to Dan and Mike tonight. So when their shift comes in at 19h00 to take over the watch from us this is what will greet them. Our Memorial Garden our gift to B Shift our Christmas gift to Dan and Mike. We miss you brothers forever in our hearts and never forgotten. Thank you to The Team Zodwa Project for making this happen. For donating the 3 bags of large white stones and 2 bags of potting compost. Thank you to Cheryl Verster for donating the 4 beautiful clay pots and the stunning plant.

Thank you to Chris Nearhou for donating a bag of white pebbles. Thank you to Lindsey Davis for the generous gift voucher which allowed us to purchase the 4 gorgeous indoor plants. Thank you to my daughter and son who went and bought the plants. Thank you to C-Shift for using some muscle to help me create this beautiful Memorial Garden. To Dan and Mike if you are watching from heaven this one is for you brothers. Merry Christmas.

The mountains are alive with...chocolate!

  My family recently spent a week at Monk's Cowl camping site, deep in the Drakensberg mountains, and we were blessed to be able to hike every day. We have passed this little spot nestled within the 'Valley", as the locals refer to the area, a couple of times, but never went inside. Today we finally did and what a little bustling area, in the middle of the sticks, supported by both tourists and locals alike.  Beautifully wrapped up chocolate slabs in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. According to the lady behind the counter, who gave us all a detailed description, the white chocolate has a hint of caramel and vanilla bourbon. I love caramel so this was an instant hit with me, and found it sweet and could definitely taste the vanilla bourbon. Next was the dark chocolate, my daughter and husband's favourite chocolate. Russian Adventure: St Basil's cathedral - Red Square

As a little girl I had dreamed and wished that I would be able to see this incredible building before I die and here I was standing in front of this incredible church.   So much myth and legend has followed this breathtaking building and its surprising that little seems to be known about this church.
