The Team Zodwa Project: Reach out be a hero: On the beat stories: "Anna" an inspiration to all women
While on the beat I came across Anna who works out in the boiling sun, the cold and rain mending and darning clothes for her clients outside on the dusty streets of the George Goch Men's hostel. I posted this story on face book and it went viral a real feel good inspirational South African story during Womens Month.
Facebook Post:
"What an inspiration did a call at the "madala hostel" George Goch mens hostel today and outside sits Anna with her thriving sewing and mending business on the pavement opposite the notorious hostel. There was quite a que! ! Wow what a strong lady. Well done sister I hope many young ladies living in poverty will see you and be inspired to make it happen for their themselves."

Post book Post"Update on "Anna" Khanyisile I visited her today and she was once she's in out in the open under the African sun sewing to feed her family. I am hoping that we could get a gazebo with sides and two small tables and a chair donated to help this amazing woman out. It's women's month and this is really a feel good story come on guys let's make this happen. Myself with Khanyisile and her proud daughter."

the Article as it appeared in South Afri-can

Kim Williams, a paramedic, met Anna on a routine call out & posted her story online.
"Anna Khanyisile is an incredible South African who has created a thriving business with her little to no resources."
Everyday she takes to the pavement on Vickers Road, near the M2 highway to set up her business. She spends the days sewing & mending the communities clothing.
"Jobs in South Africa are scarce, so we need to create them ourselves & if we use the skills we have, then we can make it work."
The long queues are proof that Anna is passionate about what she does. She never misses a day & always works till the jobs are done.
Facebook post:
