Christmas day on the beat with "C" Shift in Jozi: Our traditional Christmas Trifle "pig out" 2015
Every year on Christmas Day when we work I make a Christmas trifle without the Sherry of course for my shift. It is really horrid to work on Christmas day while our families are celebrating without us. It is not great to be on duty when mishaps occur to other humans or worse loss of life on a day when families are celebrating this special day together.
In my family we have a traditional Christmas eve dinner with all the trimmings and this year I was lucky enough to have the entire 24th December off which meant I could help to decorate the table and cook the christmas dinner. We went to bed early that night and the family woke up at 05h00 on Christmas morning so we could open our presents together as a family before I left for shift.

My awesome "C" Shift from Brixton fire Station (10). Children of fire donated this yummy christmas cake!
