Camera fun: Nikon Coolpix L820: Jozi Sunsets from Northcliff hill - Northcliff Eco-Ridge - reflections of fire

Just love this place right on my doorstep. So many people come for their evenings walks with their loved ones, friends and dogs.
Sitting up high over-looking the northern and western suburbs of Johannesburg places you into another world for a time. As sound travels while the skies burn exposing a spectacular fire ball in the sky so the city dusk comes alive. 

The barking of dogs, the sound of quiet traffic as the wind picks up and blows a steady cool wind with the odd gusts twirling your hair around your face.
Sweethearts pledging romance and forever after
The swishing sound of model planes sweeping down close to you as you watch them at play, listening to the controls and gasps and delights of the few operators.
 The sound of excited dogs panting as they run past you their coats seemingly alight with a golden glow from the fading light and sun-rays.
 Some have come to drink wine, others to meditate, others to just be.  This is truly a magical place to just sit and watch the world below slow down and settle in for the night. To watch as the day dissipates and the night appears, with daytime sounds ebbing away and make way for the nighttime freshness and wilderness music..
 


 

The end of a day, a time to reflect, enjoy and prepare for a new day, for what was today is gone and the promise of tomorrow beckons a new beginning, new chances, a fresh new start.
 
 

 

 

 

 Thee fireball in the sky falls creating darkness, time to hide and rest for tomorrow will bring its new challenges and now is the time to collect strength from the night to face the early morning fire ball in the sky as it heralds a brand new day.

The mountains are alive with...chocolate!

  My family recently spent a week at Monk's Cowl camping site, deep in the Drakensberg mountains, and we were blessed to be able to hike every day. We have passed this little spot nestled within the 'Valley", as the locals refer to the area, a couple of times, but never went inside. Today we finally did and what a little bustling area, in the middle of the sticks, supported by both tourists and locals alike.  Beautifully wrapped up chocolate slabs in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. According to the lady behind the counter, who gave us all a detailed description, the white chocolate has a hint of caramel and vanilla bourbon. I love caramel so this was an instant hit with me, and found it sweet and could definitely taste the vanilla bourbon. Next was the dark chocolate, my daughter and husband's favourite chocolate. Russian Adventure: St Basil's cathedral - Red Square

As a little girl I had dreamed and wished that I would be able to see this incredible building before I die and here I was standing in front of this incredible church.   So much myth and legend has followed this breathtaking building and its surprising that little seems to be known about this church.
