The Team Zodwa Project in partnership with Eatfresh:
 2015 #wool4gogo winter beanie project

This year we launched our winter beanie project #wool4gogo.  One of the unemployed grannies in our community loves to knit and does not like to sit idle. She asked if we could get donated wool for her so she can knit beanies for needy kids.  Eatfresh in Johannesburg has partnered us in this awesome project and allowed for companies and their staff to donated wool scraps and balls of wool. This is the first fruits of our project.
Linda Hanna Osh,  Vicky Sepp, Kim Williams and Bev van Zyl (Hellen White not in picture)

Our first stop was to the Charity Shop in Bella vista where we met some really special ladies. This particular shop owned by Hellen White. Her passion is to help vulnerable animals and poor families with their sick pets. Please support "Hellens Charity Shop" in Bella Vista

The charity shop is filled with hidden treasures and other peoples memories some old, some forgotten. I was so excited as I had found a butter dish that I had been looking for. I had looked all over for a reasonably priced dish, that was on the rare occasion when I actually found one. It seems no one used butter dishes anymore. So for a whole R15 00 I purchased a butter dish for my hubby!!

My friend Bev van Zyl whom I met thorough another special friend, Alta MacMaster who runs her 6 weekly Charities for change meeting, excitedly called me to say she had many bales of wool. I was to meet her here.  Then Linda Hanna Osh who assists Hellen White in her shop told me she had a factory load of scarps of lace and material that I could take for one of our soft skills projects. I was a happy girl!!
Just some of the over 100 bales of wool that Bev van Zyl donated to my project!!

In came another great mate Cheryl  Howard Hackney a fellow crazy climbing buddy. She had left for a crazy adventure climbing a mountain of snow in Uganda and one of the ladies from her office called me. They went and bought some balls of wool in stunning colours.
This is Leandra helping Claire both ladies work with Cheryl.

Once the bit bag of wool was dropped off my little rescue dog Odie was at hand guarding the balls. I know all he really wanted to do was attack the balls and run off with them!!

This is the fruit of our first load of donated wool.  Gogo made these beautiful beanies for the kiddies on one of our projects here in Johannesburg. Just love the colours and patterns she made with all the craps of wool she was given.

I would like to thank the Johannesburg Eatfresh sites, especially George Binikos and Nigel Williams  for helping in the collection and facilitation of the wool for our winter beanie drive. You guys rock and I am so proud to be your Brand Ambassador
