I was really excited to take hubby along on this adventure and to have the privilege of seeing some of our Big Five first hand.

We then came across this gorgeous Vervet monkey with her baby
We came across the big male he was sitting up but as we drove off the beaten track to get closer I was unable to get s shot of him with his stunning mane, instead once we came to a halt, we flopped over onto his side and stayed there!!
a storm was brewing and the clouds were forever changing

We then made our way back to the lake on the opposite side. We were able to get off our vehicle and I was able to get some stunning close up shots and experiment a little with my new Nikon Coolpix L820 camera.
Reflections of a lake...........................
the water lilies did not disappoint and I managed to capture a bee collecting pollen.
even managed to capture these little insects on the leaves between the water droplets!!
the reflections and contrasts of the dark wood agains the greys of the water and sky were spectacular.

the birds were very busy building nests and were such a joy to capture on film!

using a colour filter I got this one with a blue sky!
and then as luck would have it I was really blessed in capturing this shot with several of them
.JPG)
and we came across the patterns in the grass - the awesome Zebra's
Wildebeest!!

It was a beautiful morning and the rain from the previous night had cleared the air to present a fresh and somewhat chilly morning. The suns rays dancing between the trees and lighting up the morning dew. This is Africa at its best.

we then moved on when we realized he was not going to pose for the camera! We came across a giraffe and its young charge. It was so cute and I managed to get a few close-ups!
we spotted a lot of buck in between the bushes
a storm was brewing and the clouds were forever changing

the storm clouds continued to build creating a kaleidoscope

as the rain started to come down so ended our awesome game drive. We did not see any elephant or rhino but we still got to see a lot more than the other guest did during their afternoon drive.
