Team Zodwa/Khulisa NYDA Project Moffat view: Learning to garden and clean up the environment.

Team Zodwa NYDA Moffat view 2014

Earlier this year the youth from Moffat view under the guidance of my awesome mate Vicky Sepp the Meals on Wheels Caregiver in the area was putting the Team Zodwa young men volunteers to task.

The youth did lots of gardening - mowed the long grass and were collecting 'stuff' to make some organic compost

Once the mission was accomplished the followed Vicky to the Swimburne old age home to help Meals on wheels to hand out food to the pensioners who are alway in dire need of a meal.

the youth had lots of fun and shared a few jokes with the pensioners who loved to have the youth visit them!

Then it was off to the informal settlement - they were able to borrow a trolley to take food to people they felt were more in need than them - they even gave away their own lunch to the less fortunate. How they have grown.

It has been such a joy to work along side someone like Vicky Sepp who has helped me run the NYDA projects with me having a full time job as a ALS Paramedic for the nearby fire department it would have been impossible to achieve this without her. Thank you my dear friend you continue to inspire me everyday you are truly an unsung Hero and I hope Meals on wheels know what a gem you are!!
