I put together a team of female firefighters from the City Of Johannesburg Fire Department to travel to Barcelona in Spain to take part as the only female team, in the World Rescue Champs. 90 teams from around the world competed in a 3 day competitions.
This was my second world champs representing South Africa as the Captain of the first all girl team to compete in the World Rescue Champs.

Opening ceremony:

Day 1,2.3 of the competition: the process is as follows to complete 3 evolutions - a Rapid Sequence Evolution you have 10 minutes to remove the patient from the car using all your tools and equipment.

 - the Limited Sequence Evolution whereby you have 20 minutes to remove the patient from the car using only hand held tools ie: no hydraulics.

Then the final sequences is the Unlimited Sequence Evolution where you will us all the tools, handheld and hydraulics to free the patient - but this time a new rule applied you had to remove two patients, decided which was the more serious to extricate first all in 30 minutes. Your crew consists of 5 people for the first 2 evolutions then 6 people for the 30 minute evolution.
