Greece Adventure 2014: Athens Tour
We made our way past the National Gardens.


Inside you will find the absolutely stunning building which housed the Zapion Exhibition and Congress hall.

The Greek Parliament:The Greek Parliament building glitters in the sun and is very imposing!This neoclassical building which is still the Parliament of the Greeks today was built between 1834 and 1838 as the palace of the first kings. The Monument of the Unknown Soldier, with the two guards is called “Evzones” who are the presidential guards.


The Benaki Museum
which is a neoclassical building houses the collections that “narrate” the
history of Hellenism over time which are displayed in an enriched from.

We then made our way past the National Library near the Kolonaki district.
(A9)Kolonaki: An
elegant upmarket area of Athens stretching out from the food of Lycabettus Hill
with big squares, upmarket shops lots of coffee shops bars and restaurants.
A9)Lycabettus Hill: The highest hill of Athens (277m) the funicular takes you up to the top of the hill. The little chapel of Saint George and the theatre at the top of the hill makes it especially attractive. You can also enjoy dinner of a rink at the restaurant at the top of the hill.

Gazi: is a neighborhood close to the center of
/Athens host to many trendy arty style bars. Over the last couple of year it
has developed into one of the trendiest Athenian neighborhoods packed with people
ready to enjoy the areas many restaurant bars clubs art galleries and theatres.


We then drove along 3rd Septemvriou Street to hop of at the National Archaeological Museum. We had spent the entire day hoping on and off and were somewhat dead on our feet. So we decided to call it a day and return to the Museum the next day for several hours before we left for South Africa.
