Greece 2014 Adventure Day 7 My big Fat Greek Wedding!!







Saturday morning and the day we were waiting for had arrived. My little brother is getting Married!!


                


we spent the morning at our favorite beach then went back to our studio to get ready for the wedding. We caught a taxi to where the wedding bus was parked and joined the family and wedding guests.
 

 

 with lots of laughter and excitement we were soon on our way to the little chapel of St Nikolas. This is such a beautiful and romantic church set high up on the hill and looks across the sea and far below is the Kefalonia International Airport.

We all walked down the pathway as the sun was starting to create magical shadows creating a spectacular back drop that took our breath away.

The little chapel is absolutely beautiful, very tiny and romantic. the perfect backdrop to our Big Fat Greek Wedding.

and then the bride arrived!!
Tracy-lee looked stunning and her dress was majical. this was a fairytale Greek Island wedding on the high cliffs of Kefalonia.
 

 

 

 
after the really awesome Greek Orthodox wedding it was time for hugs and congrats after we had thrown the almond nuts and uncooked rice at the couple!!
 

 



Then we were treated the another one of Kefalonia's spectacular
sunsets that I looked forward to everyday!!



 
then we were off on foot along the steep pathway to our wedding bus to whisk us away to the reception. this restuarants was amazing and it was one of our special places as it over looked our own little romantic beach that we went to everyday.
 

 

 our favorite restaurant had been transformed into an incredible fairytale!!
 

 

 

 


The Bride and Groom then arrived and the party started!!!




     


 

 













and then it was time to break plates and dance the night away!!

The mountains are alive with...chocolate!

  My family recently spent a week at Monk's Cowl camping site, deep in the Drakensberg mountains, and we were blessed to be able to hike every day. We have passed this little spot nestled within the 'Valley", as the locals refer to the area, a couple of times, but never went inside. Today we finally did and what a little bustling area, in the middle of the sticks, supported by both tourists and locals alike.  Beautifully wrapped up chocolate slabs in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. According to the lady behind the counter, who gave us all a detailed description, the white chocolate has a hint of caramel and vanilla bourbon. I love caramel so this was an instant hit with me, and found it sweet and could definitely taste the vanilla bourbon. Next was the dark chocolate, my daughter and husband's favourite chocolate.
