Ayia Efimia - Mirtos - Assos - Fiskardo
Ayia Efimia is a gorgeous little sea village in the centre of the Pilaros district and lives 9 km north-west of Sami. the district was named Pilaros because during antiquity the harbour of Aya Efimia was the main gateway to the northern part of the island. the village is named after the Church of Ayia Efimia while the little white chapel on the quayside is dedicated to St Nicholas (Ayios Nikolaos)

Ayia Efimia is popular with yachtsmen and we had a great lunch with the water lapping up against the walls and taking in the local business of the little harbour. A stunning pedestrian road running northward from the centre along the beautiful seashore where striated rocks alternated with little sand beaches. Sami and Ithaki are clearly visible across the sea.

Then it was off into the tour bus again for one final more stop before we got back to Lassi. Mirtos beach. the road snakes deeply and at times I could not look out my window as boy did it feel as though we were soooo close to the edge and I was convinced the sea gods were just waiting to take us into their world never to return!!!

Mirtos beach has been named as one of the threes best in the world and its not hard to see why with is glittering white beaches and limpid turquoise waters set against a backdrop of precipitous cliffs and just awe-inspiring mountainsides creating a unforgettable images and memories that will live on forever in your dreams.!!
Then we made our way back to Lassi along the coast road and found some more really stunning beaches.

then we came across these really huge fish farms - incredible!!

Once back in Lassi we were treated to a spectacular sunset over the sea to end our incredible tour of the Island!
