13 days to go............................

well when I read this and say it out loud it still rings terror in my bones!! In my thirst for all things adventurous have I bitten off more than I can chew? Will this portly 48 year old body carry the willing spirit but maybe the ailing body up the highest point of South Africa - racing in fast cars on foot (eish that sound really cool hey - back to the radio and Squad cars days - for those of you who may remember) ok so not so fast but in luxury Land Rovers and Peugeots - hitting the hills and peaks on foot for km's on end with no real breaks, no real sleep and no time to turn back. Taking the responsibility of feeding hungry people!! well guess will find out soon enough. I am no Jet Jungle!!

Think I will take a fold up spade with me just to bury myself if I can't go on and I am afraid that Kobus may eat me - he told me on his food form that the only thing he does not eat is people, but if he has to he will. I will not be alone with him on the mountain after dark. So he tells us on one of the peaks these mad wild mountain dogs attacked him and he was terrified. The policeman told him that a few days prior to him climbing one of the peaks these dogs had actually killed someone. You must bear in mind though that Kobus did do the 9 Peaks solo and currently still holds the solo record. Now I do know that Kobus is a machine and knows these mountains intimately, however anyone doing this event solo clearly has to be very short of many chocolates in his box, so I am hoping that due to deprived sleep, lack of human contact for days on end and eating roots he found on the mountains to survive, made Kobus hallucinate to the extend that he thought the dogs were attacking him but it was in fact his own shoe laces when he tied his boots together. But I am not taking any chances here and as I have got to know Kobus over the last weeks, there may be some truth in this so we are dragging him along as bait for these wolf dogs.

Pamela on the other hand has promised to bring a ton of Marshmallows to throw at these wolf dogs, a Mission Impossible me thinks. Sane will scream and run like the wind, she is very very fast. You should check her out on the trails hence the name Mountain Gazelle. She will definitely be safe in the berg if lightening strikes she will be able to outrun that bolt - hell she is the Pink Bolt!!! It is going to be fun to see what Pamela and Sane have in store for us - me things they are cooking up a storm together with Nthabiseng from UpRoar. These three are planning our mini events on the peaks - lingerie , pink high heels, manicures..... and so much more you are just going to have to wait and see what these three crazy chicks have conjured up and of course they had better not leave the boys out of this or.....
